Position: College/Young Adults Pastor
Job Description:
Lead College students and Young Adults into a deeper relationship with Christ (following the model of Matt. 28:19 ¬– baptizing, making disciples, and teaching).
Create a path following the Vision Statement of The Experience Community that allows students to move from worship,_noemailmunity, and into_noemailmunity service/leadership.
o Authentic Worship – Plan lessons, over-see worship teams & create a worship environment for Thursday night gathering.
o Authentic Community – Proactively build relationships with students outside of church through outings, retreats, trips, seeking them out during Sunday services and plugging them into small groups.
o Authentic Community Service – Planning opportunities for students to serve Christ outside of church through service projects, missions, etc.
Develop a strong on campus presence through serving, small groups, and events.
Maintains, oversees, and supervises the cleaning, maintenance, and up-keep of the student ministry facility.
Oversee all forms of_noemailmunications for the College Ministry (social media, e-mail, phone-calls, etc).
Oversee, leads, and_noemailmunicates with College ministry team volunteers.
Prepare and_noemailanize materials for weekly student ministry environments.
Prepare procedural documents (showing the processes involving getting new volunteers involved, small group leader process).
Plan and coordinate outreach events, retreats and gatherings.
Invest relationally in students, to include time outside of scheduled church events.
o i.e. lunch with students on or off campus, grabbing coffee, etc.
Create opportunities to evangelize area students by being proactive in the local_noemailmunity and on campus.
Contribute as a team player to the church's vision with other members of the ECC team and volunteers (is willing to put aside personal preferences/agendas for the sake of the larger vision of the church).
With all leadership positions, especially paid positions, the following things are expected:
Present at all weekend services.
Though no exact number of "personal days" is noted, if absences are chronic, a number of days will be established by leadership.
To be Christ-like in word, deed, in places we go, in relationships we have with others.
This also applies to our spouses (if applicable).
To have a good reputation.
To not be known for slander, gossip, or negativity.
To always speak positively about ECC and to talk to the Pastor first if any problems arise.
To work well with other leaders at ECC.
We are a team, and we need to learn to adapt to other personalities and styles.
To_noemaile to scheduled meetings unless sick or out of town.
To contribute 10% to the cause and mission of ECC via tithe.
