Job Description:

Job Description for Children's Director: this is a full-time exempt position and this person reports directly to the Senior Pastor. This person is responsible for developing and implementing ministry programs and discipleship activities for children and relating to their families within the context of an orthodox traditional local church.
Position Tasks and Responsibilities:
Facilitate all children's programs and events to include Sunday School, Children's Celebration worship, Sunday evening and/or mid-week program activities. All programs are to be biblically based.
Develop and implement special programs such as Vacation Bible School, Fall and Spring Festivals, and other seasonal children's activities.
Supervise Nursery Coordinator, staff and volunteers and provide training and support as needed.
Develop and implement means of reaching prospect families with children.
Create and_noemailmunicate details related to an annual budget for Children's Ministry.
Recruit volunteer leaders and review and select curriculum resources for volunteer ministry partners in all Children's Ministry activities.
Collaborate and work with pastor and fellow staff members to include_noemailmunicating and planning in regular weekly meetings.
Oversee and manage the church's Safe Sanctuary Program, train and provide security, safety, and first-aid oversight and implementation.
Work with the ministry staff to increase inter-ministry to support a child's transition from Children to Youth.
Collaborate with Preschool Director for means of reaching preschool families and children.
Maintain records and regularly report on ministry activities to pastor, staff, and church leadership.
Attend and participate in weekly and monthly meetings with other ministry staff, volunteers, and church leadership.
Be familiar with all and_noemailpliance with policies, guidelines and procedures as outlined in the Navarre United Methodist Church Handbook.

Navarre United Methodist Church in Navarre, Florida is seeking to bring onto our ministry team a full-time Director of Children's Ministry. This person will work within the context of a local church congregation in a thriving beach community to help bring children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This person should be prepared to work with fellow staff members and with ministry volunteers to implement Sunday and weekly activities directly to children ranging from preschool through 6th grade.


This position offers competitive salary and benefits to an individual who has a Bachelor's Degree (in a related field preferred) and/or has a minimum of 2 years relevant ministry experience. Qualifications:

Job Skills and Requirements:
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality as required in working with staff and in relation to children and families.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and adaptability to use of church calendar and management software systems such as Google and CCB.
Bachelor's Degree and/or 2 years' experience in Children's Ministry.
Biblically oriented personal relationship to Jesus Christ and active involvement in a faith journey within a local church family.
