Director of Membership and Christian Education
Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church ("MZPMBC") is an_noemailanization on the cutting edge of ministry. With a thriving, diverse congregation, a staff of_noemailmitted employees and volunteers, we are seeking a Director of Membership and Christian Education to join our staff.
The Director of Membership and Christian Education enhances the mission of MZPMBC by assisting in the education, development and retention of its membership through purposeful leadership of all educational ministries of the church, including the Bible Institute. Moreover, this position requires a special focus on identifying and implementing effective processes and procedures that initiate new converts and prospective members into the early stages of the spiritual formation process and integrate them as a member of the church.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Recruit, train, and support teachers and leaders for Sunday School, the Bible Institute, and other Christian education ministries.
Plan and coordinate, in consultation with the Pastor, a Bible-based program of study, including weekly Bible Study.
Oversee, develop and implement curriculum for the Bible Institute.
Order curriculum and other materials, as needed.
Oversee annual Vacation Bible School program for members of all ages.
Provide insight to the Pastor and other ministers on relevant biblical application of current issues of the congregation.
Assist the New Members' ministry with the spiritual gifts' assessment and orientation.
Ensure gift assessment test results are forwarded to Family Touch Team.
Serve as primary liaison between the Family Touch Team and the executive leadership team.
Distribute names of members interested in various ministries to ministry leaders and follow-up with ministry leaders to confirm they are making contact.
Maintain monthly reports regarding the increase or decrease of the membership and provide reports to the Pastor.
Send we_noemaile letters to all new members and visitors in a timely manner.
Answer new members' questions regarding available ministry opportunities.
Introduce new members to current members—especially those who may have_noemailmon interests/family life/ages, etc.
Follow-up with member to determine if they are actively participating in a small group or serving opportunity.
Attend Sunday worship services at MZPMBC and encourage others to do the same.
Attend regular staff meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
At least two years of seminary experience, required.
Master of Divinity, preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in an educational or development role for new and existing church members.
Experience implementing new membership programs.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and_noemailmunication skills.
Ability to develop and present ideas to reach a diverse group of individuals.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with executive leadership, ministerial staff, office staff,_noemailmunity leaders, members of the congregation.
Skilled in conflict identification, management, and resolution.
Sensitivity to time constraints and resource availability.
Excellent writing, editing, grammatical,_noemailanizational, and research skills.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office core applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The salary for this position is_noemailmensurate upon experience and is expected to fall in the range of $35,000 to $50,000 per year.
After successfully_noemailpleting a 90 day probationary period, you will be eligible for a broad array of employee benefits, including vacation, medical, dental and life insurance. After one year of employment, you will be eligible to participate in our 401K program. Mt. Zion full benefit program will be reviewed with you in detail if an offer for employment is extended.
 

Qualifications:
