Sensitive to the multi-denominational nature of the congregation and to the need for a variety of worship experiences that honor the varied liturgical backgrounds and preferences of the worshipers.
A deep and mature relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a clear calling from God to serve as the Director of Music at LOWC.
A servant heart with an extensive musical education including music theory.
Extensive experience in music selection and choral direction, instrumental coordination, and playing musical instruments.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills.
Knowledge of audio/visual and sound equipment and its proper use in worship.
Strong time management skills and self-motivated leader.
Extensive team building experience.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with church staff and volunteers, and a clear willingness to work under the authority of the Senior Pastor and the Board of Elders.
Oversee and coordinate all music activities of the church.
Participate in the planning of music for all Sunday and special services and other music programs.
Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise and shepherd adult and youth praise teams, Chancel Choir, audio/visual and sound technicians, Bell Choir, and other music ministries within the church and the community.
Ensure music for Sunday services is appropriate for worship and sermon theme.
Serve as the primary director for the Chancel Choir.
Actively participate in the life and ministry of LOWC.
Supervise paid staff directly involved in LOWC music ministries.
Oversee the purchase and care of sheet music and music related equipment.
Prepare and manage an annual music-related budget in cooperation with the Worship Elder.
The Director of Music is supervised by the Senior Pastor and supervises the Organist, Bell Choir Director, and the Director of Blended and Contemporary Music.
