JOB OVERVIEW: Work closely with the Pastor, Deacon Board and ministry leaders to provide excellence in leadership for community outreach, especially to families.
--> Provide leadership to revitalize current family-oriented ministries (nursery, children's church, youth group and summer soccer outreach camp).
--> Plan and execute new outreach opportunities to families (such as a M.O.P.S. ministry, AWANA, an after-school program or English as Second Language - ESL). This would involve researching, planning, launching and overseeing at least one new family-oriented outreach in your first year.
--> Our church vision is to develop this role into a full-time ministry position.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Work 20 hours a week in leading our ministry efforts directed for family ministries.
o Plan, develop, promote, and oversee the nursery, children, & youth ministries.
o Work with the Pastor to adequately train and staff volunteers to serve in ministries geared for family ministry and outreach. Ensure appropriate resources and curriculum are available.
o Assume primary responsibility for planning and conducting special projects for families (i.e. soccer camp, family get-togethers, camping trips, mission's/outreach projects)
o Working with the Pastor, Deacon other leaders and teachers to establish a long-range plan/vision for all levels for family ministries.
o Ensure that family ministry programs and emphasis are featured prominently in all church publicity and promotional materials, including the church website and social media platforms.
o Assist in guest follow-up and assimilation of young families.
o Will meet regularly with the Pastor as primary supervisor and provide a monthly report of efforts and issues to the Deacon Board and Youth Committee.
o Work with the Pastor and leadership to lead the development of more strategies for outreach efforts to families.
o Build evangelistic and discipleship relationship with families in the church and community.
o Encourage and motivate our members to become actively involved in ministry efforts to our children and youth and families.
o Assist with training and equipping members to participate in children and youth ministry programs.
