DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS JOB DESCRIPTION
Position reports to: Senior Pastor
Employment status: Part Time/exempt
Position Overview:
Responsible for leading worship and ensuring musical support for church services and special events. We are looking for a musically-gifted, spiritually mature person with great emotional intelligence to lead worship at our church. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship in a multi-generational, urban church setting.
Responsibilities:
Creates and prepares visual graphics for church services.
Leads worship during church services and special events.
Prepares monthly worship schedule and facilitates weekly rehearsals.
Coaches musicians on skill development.
Recruits and trains new musical talent.
Works with the Worship Team to maintain and service musical equipment.
Collaborates with the Senior Pastor to ensure music reflects the mission and the vision of the church.
Solicits feedback from the Worship Ministry Team, vocalists, & musicians and develops improvement plans based on feedback.
Works with Worship Ministry Team leaders to prepare and adhere to, yearly budget.
Attend staff meetings when appropriate.
Attends monthly Worship Ministry Team meetings.

Gateway Church is nestled in the Parkrose neighborhood which is located on the eastside of Portland, OR. Our neighborhood is the most ethnically and culturally diverse in the city. Excellent communication skills.
Experience managing volunteers in a church environment.
