The Family Pastor/director will manage and grow the established family ministry with the goal of encouraging and resourcing parents in the discipleship of their children; managing the Christian education program for children from nursery through 5th grade; and developing a youth ministry program to disciple the middle school and high school youth of our church. 70% of work hours should be focused on youth ministry and 30% on managing children's programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee children's Sunday School. Choose a curriculum, recruit, train, and encourage volunteer teachers.
Coordinate and oversee five annual children's events: back to school ice cream social, trunk or treat, Christmas pageant and party, year-end celebration, and Vacation Bible School
Communicate regularly with parents to inform and encourage. Provide resources for the Christian education of their children taking place at home.
Provide support and encouragement to preschool. Lead a weekly devotion for our teachers and_noemailanize discipleship opportunities for our student's parents (especially their moms).
Build on our existing youth ministry by leading weekly youth group meetings for middle school and high school students; recruiting and training volunteers to help with youth ministry;_noemailmunicate with parents and provide parenting resources; schedule regular face-to-face times with individual students to foster healthy, ministry relationships; schedule and supervise annual camps, retreats, and mission trips

Must have a personal relationship with Jesus and a strong knowledge of the Scripture
Must have a passion for cultivating Christian faith and Christian community in youth people by teaching, discipling, and building relationships
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong ethical standards and be able to protect confidentiality
Must be able to teach truths found in scripture in easily understood ways
Must be a self-starter and have the ability to set and work toward goals
Must be organized, yet flexible and able to improvise quickly and calmly
MDiv preferred, Bible degree required; 3-5 years' experience preferred
Salary:
Annual $60,000-$80,000
