New Day Church is seeking an experienced, passionate, and Spiritual leader of a Christian congregation who guides members in their walk with God, provides pastoral care (through discipleship, counseling, and prayer), and administers the church. We believe that discipleship is the primary way New Day's vision and mission come to life. Because of this, the lead pastor should have a proven track record of creating and maintaining a discipleship culture.

Spiritual Qualifications:

We are seeking a mature and equipped follower of Christ who, while not perfect, aspires to further growth and can demonstrate evidence of a life where they increasingly:

is living consistently under the control of the compelling love of Christ, the direction of the Word of God, and the control of the Holy Spirit;

has discovered, developed, and is using their spiritual gifts;

has learned to effectively share their faith while demonstrating a radical love that amazes those it touches;

Gives evidence of being a faithful member of Christ's church, an effective manager of life, relationships, and resources, a willing minister to others, including "the least of these," an available messenger to non-kingdom people, hard-working, humble, and teachable; and committed to unity.

Demonstrates a gospel-driven, worship-focused, morally pure, evangelistically bold, discipleship grounded, family faithful, and socially responsible life.

The lead pastor must be devoted to the Word and sensitive to what the Spirit says to the church. They will devote themselves to daily prayer and Bible reading to guard themselves from sin and stir up their heart and mind to renewed passion for Christ. They will gladly participate in mutual care and accountability with other believers. Will seek to undertake his duties in the power of the Holy Spirit, undergirded with prayer, guided by Scripture, and manifesting the character of Christ for the glory of God.

The Lead Pastor must be in complete agreement with New Day church's Statement of Faith, which must be signed upon hiring.

The Lead Pastor will possess the following professional qualifications:

In addition to proven leadership skills, a heart, and passion for discipleship, excellent people, teaching, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, spiritual leader, and disciple-maker passionate about using discipleship, shepherding, and preaching to equip the saints for the work of ministry to make disciples, shepherd the body of believers, and impact our community.

Professional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Public speaking includes weekly expository preaching with a solid commitment to the word of God. The Lead Pastor must be able to communicate effectively and engagingly in small and large group settings and have excellent in-person, telephone, and email communication etiquette and skills.

Excellent work ethic, self-leadership, and self-control. This individual would be expected to take the initiative to see other tasks that need to be done and implement the necessary steps to accomplish them.

Aptitude in problem-solving and a willingness to incorporate new and effective ways to achieve better results. Comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.

Flexibility in a people-oriented ministry setting. Must be flexible with days and hours worked and flexible with occasional short-notice adjustments of work schedule due to requirements of our mission with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.

Proven experience in leading teams of people and training and developing team members. A servant leader willing to serve the public, and church body with kindness, compassion, and professionalism.

Gifted and skilled in extending warm, welcoming, and personal hospitality.

Has strong administrative skills for coordinating events, organizing, and managing a budget.

Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and can handle complaints and problems with tact, patience, and diplomacy.

Meet the qualifications for Elders in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22.

Expected to be involved in the overall life of the church body by actively participating in life groups and the other ministry-wide events and functions.

Proficiency in using office equipment, the Internet, Email, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Must pass a background check and have the clearance required for a Michigan-licensed facility.
