Lead Pastor Job - West County Assembly of God, Chesterfield, Missouri

Introduction

West County Assembly of God (WCAG) is a worshiping family on mission_noemailprised of a diverse and vibrant_noemailmunity of believers. We are seeking a lead pastor who is called by God to serve WCAG as her spiritual leader.

Ministry Responsibilities

Shepherd the congregation, providing spiritual leadership and pastoral care, demonstrating warmth, openness and sensitivity to the needs of the church body
Possess the ability to exegete and preach God's Word in varied ways (expository, textual, topical), being_noemailmitted to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible
Preach sermons that edify, challenge and convict the congregation
Foster a sense of_noemailmunity built upon a culture of faith, love and service
Lead the congregation in efforts to grow God's Kingdom and to reach the lost and the unchurched and live out the Great Commission
Provide pastoral care for members of the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis
Possess a strong relational orientation, valuing the uniqueness and vocational calling of each individual, promoting a growth mentality in others
Interact and be engaged with congregants and fellowships within the church of different races, ethnicities and nationalities and integrate the fellowships with WCAG
Encourage, develop and maintain intergenerational relationships, including with children and youth
Able to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences both inside and outside the church
Provide a vision plan to the congregation following approval by the Joint Board
Deal with conflict directly, openly, honestly and graciously, and is flexible, friendly, approachable and honest

Administrative Responsibilities
Mentor, supervise, and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with robust leadership development
Assign the duties of all staff, pastoral and non-pastoral, and be responsible for their fruitful conduct, affirmation, and discipline as appropriate
Provide each staff member, pastoral and non-pastoral, with a job description which will include, among other things, a review of the general expectations of employees, an overview of employee benefits, and grievance procedures
Propose the annual budget, in conjunction with the Deacon Board and be moderator of the Annual Business Meeting of the church
Be accountable to the Scriptures and Elder Board for the faithful discharge of duties as described in the lead pastor job description and WCAG bylaws
Serve as a full member of the Deacon Board and Elder Council, preparing the agendas and leading the monthly meetings of each group
Possess strong written and verbal_noemailmunication skills and relational skills
Possess strong_noemailanizational and administration skills
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the WCAG Bylaws
