OVERVIEW:

A successful candidate for senior pastor will be, first and foremost, in love with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Word. As the teaching shepherd for this body of believers he will be an exceptional biblical communicator, and his enthusiastic expository teaching will reflect Christ-like character in depth and integrity; he will demonstrate full alignment with the church's doctrine and practice, which accepts as "Articles of Faith" the Baptist Faith and Message adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Orlando, Florida, on June 14, 2000. The senior pastor will above all, submit to God's ultimate authority as set forth in Scripture. Furthermore, second only to Scripture, he will perform his duties in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of the church. The senior pastor will additionally be:

1. A Shepherd, God's watchman, who first must hear "Son of man, hear what I say to you"...and then eagerly "open your mouth and eat what I give you" so you may "then go and speak o the people..." (Ezekiel 2: 8, 3: 1). You are God's messenger to God's people to help understand God's Word with depth and clarity. The pastor must be personable, approachable, and love the congregation.

2. An experienced leader with a demonstrated ability to collaboratively move forward the direction of the church with the leadership team.
