Lead Pastor - (full-time)
The Lead Pastor has a passion for leading people into deepening relationship with Jesus. He recognizes potential and builds healthy ministry teams. He believes in the potential of Christian education. He loves edifying and inspiring the church.
Main responsibilities
-Develops and communicates specific vision for ministering in the Greater Watertown/Ft. Drum area.
-Builds and guides ministry leaders/teams for fruitful Adult, Youth, and Children's ministries.
-Coaches and guides Children's and Youth Ministry directors to build healthy volunteer teams.
-Recognizes and develops potential adult small group leaders for non-Access groups/studies.
-Ensures healthy recruitment of volunteer ministry leaders and church staff w/ support of the administrator.
-Generally oversees all regular public services for adults, offering the community quality:
-Teaching and preaching
-Musical worship
-Prayer
-Information and Invitations (event announcements/invitations)
-Connection (mechanisms linking people with next steps)
-Security (physically safe environment)
-Regular Baptism and communion services
-Oversees the development of special mid-week topical ministries (i.e. marriage, parenting)
-Leads and guides regular eldership team meetings focusing on direction and unity.
-Teaches/Preaches at regular Sunday Services at least 75% of time
Administrative Duties
Participates in regular church staff meetings. Chairs monthly church council meetings as per FFC constitution and by-laws. Oversees church Administrator, Associate Pastors, School Principal, and other support staff to ensure cohesive use of property and equipment. Ensures consistent ministry calendar planning is taking place with support of church Administrator.
Other Duties
Officiates wedding services and ensures premarital counseling is provided. Officiates memorial/funeral services as needed. Ensures issue-specific counseling is offered to those who may benefit. Works with the School to assist in chapel, Bible classes, and various official school events throughout the year.
