Middle School Minister/Director

Position: Middle School Director & Minister/Pastor
Location: La Jolla, California
THE SCOPE OF THE POSITION INCLUDES:
Oversight of middle school students and their spiritual development.
Create/implement Gospel centered curriculum.
Work closely with parents regarding their students, the program, and group activities.
Oversee all program details including Sundays, midweeks, camps, and events.
Create and develop volunteer leadership team.
This person should be_noemailmitted to Christ and their own spiritual formation.
Neighborhood outreach. Growing in relationship in our_noemailmunity context, especially at the local middle school
DESIRED ABILITIES:
Familiarity with working with students, especially middle school aged.
Has the ability to teach and counsel using the scripture.
Excels at managing and developing leaders.
Has pastoral and/or leadership experience, and credibility with parents.
Enjoys collaborative ministry and thrives in a team setting.
Experience selecting or creating curriculum and executing successful events.
Possesses administration and_noemailanization skills/experience.
POSITION PROFILE
We are looking for someone who can shepherd our middle school students, offer input and execution to the overall vision for student ministries at LJCF, and genuinely loves walking with students into deeper Christ likeness.
Selected candidate will be able to:
Focus on local outreach, especially in regard to Muirlands Middle School and other local schools.
Shepherd and develop their leadership/volunteer team.
Collaborate with our team to refine existing strategies.
Provide a consistent pastoral presence for students and families.
Be an example and an advocate for the core values at LJCF.
Bring fresh thinking to the area of student ministry.
THINGS SHAPING OUR STUDENT MINISTRIES
Excellent Sunday Programming
Midweek engagement
Summer camps, winter camps, and other events/retreats.
Strong_noemailmunication and relationship with parents.
Local outreach to_noemailmunity and schools.
Volunteer leadership equipping and development.
POSITION STRUCTURE: Part time: 15-20 hours a week.
Direct Reports to Student Ministries Pastor.
Indirect Reports to Lead Pastor and Operations Manager (for liabilities and budgeting).
BENEFITS & SALARY: Alfac offer. Six annual therapy sessions with MFT offered. Flexible schedule options. $15.50-$20.50 per hour D.O.E. and education
