Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time preaching minister who will give a weekly message and provide pastoral care to the congregation. We want someone who will be visible and active in the community and provide leadership in reestablishing our children's and youth ministry.
This is a full-time position and includes a 3-bedroom parsonage which is 2 blocks form the church building and 3 blocks from the downtown area.
About Edinburg Christian Church:
Edinburg Christian Church is a small Independent Christian Church in a small town in the middle of farm country in central Illinois. Edinburg is about 20 miles southeast of Springfield. Over the years, the mining and manufacturing jobs have left the area and our town has gradually become one with a lot of rental homes and families new to the community. Many of these families, as well as families who are long time residents, are dealing with variety of kinds of brokenness. We know that Jesus Christ is the answer to that brokenness. We are seeking a person to help us share Christ as that answer with our community.
Our church has for several decades concentrated on ministering to the youth of our community and has welcomed in not only students from our own congregation but from other area churches, as well as young people from unchurched families. Unfortunately, these programs are currently not in operation but we continue to be interested in reaching the youth of our community.
