Summary: The Minister of Worship & Music will develop and implement an overall ministry that will promote, within the congregation, uplifting and Biblically sound worship experiences, both on an individual & corporate basis.
A. To work closely with the pastoral staff (especially the Senior Pastor) in giving oversight and direction
to the corporate, public worship services of the church.
B. To develop and plan appropriate worship services. Conduct training sessions for worship participants,
and other related ministries and activities.
C. To oversee and develop the entire music program of the church.
D. To oversee the development of the enhancement of worship through other related art (multimedia
& visual arts).
E. To oversee the performance & training of the production committees (e.g. lighting, sound, & cd /
future video ministry).
F. To be a shepherd to all music and worship participants through teaching, encouraging, exhorting, &
G. To identify, recruit, & train lay members who can lead and/or participate in the music ministry.
H. To develop and maintain a music and worship budget each fiscal year.
I. To develop and maintain the music library (Praise Charts, Orchestral arrangements, etc.).
J. To maintain the church's compliance with existing copyright laws, especially as they relate to music,
drama, & multi-media.
K. To oversee the usage, care, & maintenance of musical instruments, as well as light, sound, & other
L. To consult with the pastoral staff concerning the screening, contact, contract with outside groups
for the enhancement of worship and edification of the church, on rare occasions.
M. To maintain regular office hours as agreed upon with the Senior Pastor.
N. To supervise all lay leaders and participants in the worship and music ministry.
O. To attend and participate in all staff meetings & General Board meetings.
P. To be a continual student of the Word, and of prayer, and maintain Biblical stewardship.
