Location: First Presbyterian Church of East Jordan, Michigan

Position: Part-Time Music Director

Purpose: To provide and oversee a meaningful Christian music ministry for Sunday worship services and special religious events.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Pastor to enhance worship services.

Select, arrange and coordinate music for services, including special events like weddings and funerals.

Rehearse with vocal choir and seasonal bell choir, if any; manage performances.

Serve as Organist and/or Pianist.

Arrange substitutes when unavailable.

Instruments: 1908 Hinners pipe organ, professionally maintained annually and as needed. While the ability to play the pipe organ is preferred, it is not required. We also have a beautiful baby grand piano in the chancel area.

Relationships: Regular meetings with the Pastor and Worship Ministry Team for planning and feedback.

Compensation: Competitive annual salary paid bi-weekly. No additional benefits.

Vacation/Leave: Paid vacation to be negotiated. Two weeks paid study leave for continuing education.

Probationary Period: 90 days, with a review at the end.

Accountability: Reports to the Pastor and the Personnel Ministry Team.
