Music Director Job - First Presbyterian Church of Howell, Howell, Michigan

FPCH is blessed with both a Schantz Pipe Organ (18 Rank, excellent condition, Great in Swell and Separate Enclosures) and a Steinway L Grand Piano that are integral to our music program.
The Music Director is a part time (20-24 hours per week) position.

The Music Director reports directly to and is responsible to the Head of Staff and is under the counsel and evaluation of the Session through the Administration and Worship Teams.
Condensed Highlights of Position Responsibilities of the Music Director:
1. In consultation with the Head of Staff, will select and coordinate appropriate music and performances for all worship services of FPCH, building a strong inspirational music program;
2. Direct the Chancel Choir, Hand Bell Choir, and other choir programs for FPCH;
3. Recruit, train, and mentor choir members.
4. Encourage and invite members and visitors to participate in the music program through solos, duets, and instrumental pieces as appropriate to the worship service;
5. The Music Director is expected to function in harmony and be a contributing member of the ministry team_noemailprised of the pastor, Worship Team, tech team, and church staff;
