Job Title: Part-Time Affirming Pastor
Job Type: Contract (1099 Independent Contractor) Location: Christ Chapel Long Beach, CA
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and time commitment
Position Overview:
The Part-Time Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of our congregation, fostering a welcoming and affirming environment for worship, discipleship, and community service. This is a contract position with an expected time commitment of approximately 2-5 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate both church and pastoral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead weekly Sunday worship services
Administer sacraments, including Baptism and Communion
Participate in monthly board/leadership meetings
Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care as needed
Promote and uphold the church's affirming values and inclusive theology
Engage with the congregation in a loving and respectful manner
Maintain clear and timely communication with church leadership

Job Qualifications:
Certificate or license to perform pastoral duties
Bible college or seminary degree preferred
Clear California Live Scan background check
Completion of Mandated Reporter Training (as required by CA law)
Demonstrated commitment to serving an affirming and inclusive church
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
