To provide spiritual leadership for the First Presbyterian Church of Creswell, Oregon and to support the church's program and mission in the areas of Christian education, harmony, visitation, and stewardship. We are seeking a pastor who will join us and lead us in leaving a legacy of spiritual vigor, service, and the joy of Christ in our community...a testament to the moving and work of the Holy Spirit in our leadership, personal and corporate lives.
Accountability and Evaluation:
Accountability will be to the Presbytery of the Cascades and to the Session of First Presbyterian Church of Creswell through the Personnel Committee. A performance review will be conducted each year before considering renewal of the covenant. This review will also address the adequacy of compensation. Goals, hours and terms may be revised at that time.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the worship services and faithfully preach and teach the Word of God
Bring spiritual energy into the contemplative/liturgical worship service and music enjoyed by our aging congregation
Work cooperatively with the Faith Committee and Music Coordinator in planning normal and special worship services
Conduct Communion services at least once a month during the Sunday services
Facilitate the Sessions short-term and long-term plans which could include starting a new generational community of worship and provide ideas for its future growth/development.
Attend Committee meetings when necessary
Help Committees work toward the Session's long-term goals
Mentor and help facilitate efforts in starting a new ministry geared toward a younger generation
Moderate Session meetings
Provide pastoral care, creating personal connections and offer support to individual members in times of need, crisis, or celebration.
Show the love of Christ to any who attend our church
Visit with those in need
Support the Deacons in their efforts to support each person in the congregation
Attend once a month meetings
Offer/encourage training/workshops to better address the needs of the Deacons and/or church attendees/community
A person of strong faith, dedicated discipleship, and love of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel in the church and in the world.
