The Pastoral Search Committee, representing the membership of Queen Street Baptist Church (QSBC) is
seeking a pastor called by God to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. This communication
serves as our official announcement of readiness to receive letters of interest/resumes from prospective
candidates.
Queen Street Baptist Church was organized in 1865 by Freedmen who made their way from Williamsburg,
Virginia to Fortress Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. Needing a place to worship they met in the Court
House and organized as a church. Today QSBC has an active membership of approximately 250 members.
The congregation is made up of people of all ages and all stages of spiritual maturity.
The successful candidate must be a born again baptized believer in Jesus Christ, been licensed and
ordained to serve in accordance with Baptist Doctrine and Baptist Principles. The candidate should be
seminary trained with a Master of Divinity/Doctorate of Divinity Degree from an accredited theological
seminary, college or university. The candidate must have had pastoral experience with a comparable sized
congregation or have had significant training and responsibility as an Assistant Pastor or Associate
Minister. The successful candidate must have proven administrative and organizational skills and embrace
the qualities as given in 1 Timothy 3:1 - 7.
