About Our Community

Pastor (part time: dual-career leading to full-time)
We are seeking a dual-career (that is, it is expected that the candidate has another job to supplement their i_noemaile) pastor. The pastor position is offered as approximately 1/2 of a full-time role, but_noemailpensated in accordance with cost-of-living expenses in Mahomet, Illinois. We expect that this will grow into a full-time position over time.
Pastor: Job Description (see 1 Timothy 3:1-7)
- Willing to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit
- Collaborates with board, leadership council, and members of the church
- Prepares weekly sermons, preaching, teaching and conducting worship services
- Acts as lead member of Board of Directors and Leadership Council that directs the ministry activities of the church
- Develops and shares a Kingdom of Heaven vision for LCC's future and what God has called us to do in our_noemailmunity
- Oversees the annual budget with transparency with advisement provided by the finance team and approval of the board
- Shepherds the membership to discover, pursue, and develop their giftings and callings
- Offers pastoral care to the church membership
- Pursues_noemailmunity involvement with natural opportunities to share the gospel, serve those in need, and_noemailanize events with like-minded churches
- Along with the Board of Directors, ensures_noemailpliance of LCC with relevant legal and general safety requirements (e.g., background checks)
- Other duties as discussed with the church's Leadership Council and Board of Directors

About Life Community Church of Central Illinois:
Life Community Church was founded in a surprising way in June 2013. Our Founding Pastor, Jeff Augustine, had been leading a rather large Bible study that needed to be relocated. Many in attendance wished to continue, but we did not have a large enough space. After seeking God, our prayers were answered when He miraculously provided a free place to meet. The first Sunday morning we met, 65 showed up to worship together. Instead of a Sunday morning Bible study, we started Sunday morning worship services. We began developing ministries, serving our community, and reaching out to those in need. In the fall of 2019, Pastor Jeff felt called to take a position at Colorado Christian University. He and his family moved to Colorado, leaving our church without a pastor. Greg Elliott, who was also a part of the original Bible study, has been the Interim Pastor ever since. Through this transition, we have developed a strong, diverse leadership team who oversee all ministry areas.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years church pastoral experience (leading, shepherding)
- Prior preaching and discipleship experience
- Ability to facilitate small/large group discussion
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or Advanced degree (although experience in ministry may be sufficient)
