Job Description: Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Student Ministries
Purpose:
NCC is looking to add a qualified and passionate leader to our ministry staff. We have an immediate opening for a full-time discipleship/student ministries pastor who will further develop and have oversight of NCC's discipleship pathway and existing student ministries.
Responsibilities: Associate Pastor of discipleship and student ministries
Discipleship responsibilities:
- Oversee the vision and implementation of the NCC pathway consistent with the mission and
vision of the church
- Innovate and evaluate existing ministries as new ministries are identified
- Manage and support groups and other ministries including existing men's/women's ministries, E-
3 small groups, college age and adult discipleship/Bible studies
- Coordinate interactions between ministries; offering support and guidance
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to support and implement discipleship ministries
- Plan, administer and track the discipleship ministries budget
Student ministries responsibilities:
- Provide vision for and oversee ministry leaders and volunteers of our student ministries; nursery
to 12th grade
- Develop strong connections with parents, local schools and leaders from other community
churches
- In coordination with ministry leaders, select and oversee curriculum for all student ministries,
including training and support
- Recruit, train and shepherd volunteer teams with diverse gifts and personalities
- Seek to creatively integrate student ministries into all phases of the Church
- Compel students toward evangelism
- Oversee the planning, production and follow-up of the ministry calendar
- Plan, administer and track the student ministries budget
EXPECTATIONS:
- Attend services and staff meetings on a weekly basis
- Commit to a designated weekday sabbath
- Work closely with the NCC Lead Pastor in areas of collaboration and planning for the fulfilling of
the Church's overall mission
- Provide administrative support to all ministries in conjunction with the Lead Pastor
- Other duties as discussed and developed in concert with the Lead Pastor including but not
limited to; pulpit supply, pastoral care, visitor follow-up, or other ministerial duties as needed in
absence of Lead Pastor
COMPENSATION: Will vary by experience and candidates ability to meet the needs of NCC.
($35,000- $50,000)
EDUCATION: Bible or Seminary degree preferred, however not required
