Pastor: Non-Denominational Church Job - Waters Edge Church, Ogden, Iowa

Water's Edge Church in Ogden, Iowa is seeking to fill a Pastoral Leader position. Water's Edge is a Bible-based, non-denominational church with an active congregation of around 80-120 weekly with midweek youth outreach and member-led weekly small group prayer and Bible studies. Water's Edge's desire is to reach out to people in and around the_noemailmunity, as well as serving God's global church. Water's Edge strives to be passionate about Jesus, to love and serve people well while being a living testimony of what the Lord has done for us individually and as a group. Our church run coffee shop at the front of our facility on main street Ogden reflects these desires. Ogden is a small Iowa town made up of we_noemailing_noemailmunity members with excellent schools. We are located 25 minutes west of Ames and 45 minutes north of Des Moines.

The Pastor Position will be skilled in:

Leadership / Administration:
The role of the Pastor is to assist the volunteer leadership in overseeing the life and direction of the church. This individual will be actively engaged with our volunteer leadership in the planning and development of all church programs. The Pastor will have a firm grasp of the purpose, values and vision of the church. The Pastor will reflect Christ as a servant leader who supports the volunteer leaders in all areas of ministry, including worship, children and youth ministry, adult ministry, local and global missions, and our coffee shop outreach. The position requires the ability to utilize appropriate discretion and exercise confidentiality as needed.

Outreach / Community Engagement:
This individual must be willing to work with other church leaders and religious_noemailanizations in the_noemailmunity when appropriate. They will be approachable, outgoing and actively visible in the_noemailmunity, representing Jesus and the gospel well, both in and outside the church walls. They should have a desire for the Great Commission in all aspects of their life.

Discipleship / Teaching:
The Pastor will preach biblically based weekly sermons providing relevant and thought provoking messages to today's challenges, as well as leading and speaking at other events as needed. The Pastor will also encourage volunteer leaders and church members to develop their God-given spiritual gifts and talents through ongoing discipleship. The Pastor will be expected to counsel and care for shut-ins, families in need of pastoral counseling and other weekly spiritual, emotional, mental and physical needs of the church and_noemailmunity.

Personal Relationship with Jesus;
Most importantly, the Pastor will have an active personal relationship with Jesus. They will seek the Lord in all matters of the church, test them to scripture, seek counsel as needed and lead humbly before the Lord. Being surrendered to the Lord, the pastor will carry out the Lords_noemailmands, leadings, desires and passions in an ongoing daily walk with Him.
