Senior Pastor Position
Principle Function:
The pastor is to be the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He also engages in pastoral care, provides supervisory leadership in all areas and administrates the paid and volunteer staff.
Ministry Requirements and Responsibilities:
Shepherding:
The Pastor is the individual primarily charged with shepherding and care of the flock. He is to be available for hospital visits, home visits, and outreach to new visitors.
He should be able to counsel members on issues in their lives in a Biblical manner.
He will conduct weddings, baptisms, and funerals.
Leadership:
The Pastor will be a member of the Elder Board, meeting monthly. The Elder Board leads the church.
The Pastor is responsible for preaching and teaching God's Word. He is also responsible for evangelism and outreach.
Preaching and Teaching:
The Pastor must be able to preach and teach. He must be able to rightly divide the Word of God.
He should be the regular speaker at the Sunday morning worship service. He should be available to lead small group bible studies and other services as needed.
He should primarily be preaching in an expository style. He must agree with ICBCs doctrinal statement and believe in the absolute authority of scripture.
Character:
He should be temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, not a bully, but gentle and not contentious. (1 Timothy 3:2-3) He should not be domineering or quarrelsome but should set a good example and be kind.
He should be the husband of one wife and not divorced. He should be the leader of his family and manage his household well. He should not be burdened with a large amount of debt.

About Inkom Community Bible Church:
Inkom Community Bible Church, Inc. (ICBC), is a non-denominational church and is self-governing and independent in nature.
ICBC started from a Bible study group in the 1970's. It officially became a church in 1978. In 1983 ICBC purchased the building we are in today.
ICBC operates by the elder form of government, giving the elders the responsibility for the total direction of the church as they are guided by the Lord Jesus Christ. The Board of Elders is charged with selecting new elders and disciplining those elders who are so deserving. The Pastor is a member of the Board of Elders.
There is no church membership.
