Senior Pastor Profile
Asian American Baptist Church (AABC) was founded in 1992 and seeks to be a Christ-centered biblical community that demonstrates grace generously, shares Christ boldly, and loves others unconditionally. The Senior Pastor Search Committee is seeking a Senior Pastor who is a gifted Bible teacher, preacher, leader, and administrator. In prayer we are seeking God's provision of someone with the ability to handle and teach God's Word in accordance with our statement of faith, work collaboratively and equip church leaders for the ministry.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Senior Pastor include, but are not limited to:
- Seek to glorify God in all aspects of AABC's ministries.
- Preach biblical sermons that produce spiritual growth and inspire people to follow Jesus.
- Provide overall direction for Sunday morning worship services.
- Champion mission and ministry opportunities at AABC in fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Give oversight to church staff.
- Motivate staff and lay leaders to develop their spiritual gifts and to grow in their love for Jesus.
- Develop and disciple ministry leaders.
- Provide biblical advice to church congregants when needed.
- Maintain personal devotions and growth in the Word of God.
- Maintain a healthy balance between family life and ministry life.
Qualifications
- Meet the biblical qualifications of a pastoring/teaching elder
- Acts 6:1-6, 20:28-31; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-11.
- Possess a lifestyle characterized by moral integrity, ethics, courage and humility.
- A Master of Divinity (MDiv) or Master of Theology (ThM) degree preferred.
- 5 years of full-time pastoral ministry preferred.
- Demonstrable leadership qualities evident from previous ministry positions.
- Commitment to serve the church and its community.
- Commitment to evangelism and outreach.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to listen.
