Job Description:

A)The Pastor will lead us in non-denominational, Bible-based theology. The Pastor will make any reasonable accommodation in special circumstances for pastoral services requested by the congregation such as memorial services and funerals as approved by the Church Board, of which the Pastor is a member.
B)There is no Youth Program.
C)The Pastor must be qualified and available to perform marriages, baptisms, memorial or funeral services for congregants based on Holy scripture as requested by the Board. Additional compensation will be provided by the Church for marriages, and then may be provided instead by the wedding party in lieu of the Church doing so. Any other offerings personally presented to the Pastor may be retained by him at his discretion.
D)The Pastor will be accountable for delegating the Men’s and Women’s weekly Bible study group, and other church events when scheduled. The Pastor should consider attending Men’s group as a spiritual leader and educator, and as a “local outreach” to community visitors.
E)The Pastor will participate in and lead when needed any “local outreach events” sponsored by the Church such as town gatherings, picnics, etc. that support evangelism of the community.
F)The Pastor should make himself available to the congregation for spiritual counseling so long as he feels he is competent in the need. Spiritual counseling to the community is optional but encouraged. Counseling of women will necessitate the witness of a female Church member unless rejected by the woman counseled. In that case, the female Church member witness must be readily accessible.
G)The Pastor is encouraged to delegate at his discretion any part or parts of the services to Church members and congregation to encourage their spiritual development, the use of their gifts, and their service to their faith.
H)The Pastor will not be required to oversee the worship service as we currently are blessed with a member with that gift. However he may participate in hymn selections as he may need in order to support his message.
I)The Pastor will attend monthly Board meetings as the Board’s Spiritual Leader as prescribed by our by-laws.
 

About Ryderwood Community Church:

We're searching for a Pastor to serve a 100-year old non-denominational, evangelical community church which is still in remarkable condition and well maintained. We have a sanctuary that holds about 100 with a new digital sound system just added this past year, an annex with a full kitchen, and an office. We serve a senior community of "55+" with a diverse faith background, and we are the only church in our town of 400 people. Our membership is a very traditional, mature body of Christians, well versed in the Holy Bible, very faithful to scripture, fully invested and engaged in the power of prayer, and highly committed to find a Bible-based Pastor. Our Church Board is experienced in serving the body (no Board members are compensated) and will be found to be very flexible and supportive in the Pastor's mission. We do not currently have Deacons or Elders. We are historically financially secure and have been able to afford any new needs for the church, support local outreach opportunities, and currently support 5 field missions. We have one weekly traditional one-hour and fifteen minutes on Sunday morning. We have Thursday Men and Women Bible study groups. We expect our Pastor to participate in local outreach, participate in town events in which the church participates or sponsors, preside over memorial services as requested by the body and/or community, and make visits of spiritual encouragement and care for members as needed. We believe in the traditional expectations of Pastoral service to our church family as "the flock". The role is a full time position. Salary is commensurate to experience and what can be termed a self-determined hours need, but we believe generous to the expectations. The role will be as a "1099 self-employed consultant" and not an "employee" of the church. Compensation also includes a 1900 sq ft Parsonage and utilities, provided at no cost. The position has, an annual 3-week "paid time off". We are open to meeting your expectations, and are more interested in the right fit than the financial commitment.
