Job Overview-
The primary responsibility of the Pastor is to glorify God by providing biblical leadership and oversight through focusing on God's Word and prayer and shepherding the Body of Christ.
The Pastor shall have oversight of the church. He shall serve as an elder and work positively with the other elders to enrich, administer and enlighten the congregation on the many facets of a Godly church. He shall be the president of the church where such office is required by law.
As the preaching elder, he shall be a strong example of the directives given to us in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1 and 1 Peter 5.
Finally, the pastor will operate successfully within the provisions of our Church government as described in Article V of the Bridge Community Church Constitution which is available on our website.
Job Description- The pastor shall:
Minister the Word of God, teach sound doctrine and inspire and motivate the congregation to follow the Lord Jesus Christ more fully.
Provide Biblical leadership by recruiting, empowering, and developing others to lead.
Mobilize and sustain a church community dedicated to prayer.
Love and care for our congregation so that it is more able to love and care for others.
Lead church-wide initiatives for discipleship of all age groups and backgrounds.
Develop in partnership with the elders and under the Lordship of Christ Jesus as the Head of the Church, our vision of discipleship.
Construct a spirit of goal setting and evaluation with the elders.
Education-
Bachelor's degree in religion, church administration, Christian counseling or other related field.
Maintain regular and disciplined personal worship, Bible study and prayer.
Minimum three years church ministry and/or leadership experience.
