ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH SENIOR PASTOR POSITION

Position Overview: St. Peter's Lutheran Church is seeking a Senior Pastor with theological knowledge and the ability to explain it, while preaching the Gospel. Along with strong leadership skills, our pastor would need to coordinate various church programs, while working well with our church family, and our community. Our average attendance on Sundays is 60 and our current membership is approximately 150.
St. Peter's Lutheran Church is located in Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Activities in the area are hunting, fishing, hiking, water sports, cross country skiing, other outdoor activities, as well as cultural activities located within an hour of the church.
A. Overview of Responsibilities:
1. To nurture St. Peter's members in the Word of God, to help them grow in faith, hope, and love; to see their daily lives as the primary setting of exercising their Christian calling.
2. Preach regularly. We have capable lay people who are willing to help with services but it is the pastor's responsibility to lead services.
3. Coordinate the day-to-day ministry of the congregation and administration of the church.
4. St. Peter's Ministries include Baptism preparation, Sunday School, First Communion preparation, Confirmation instruction, membership visits, funerals, and weddings (including rehearsal and counseling).
5. Work with the Board of Trustees to staff the church as deemed necessary to help administrate the affairs of the Congregation.
6. Lead the church to fulfill its mission. "Alive in the Spirit"
7. Be enthusiastic in their call to serve.
8. To be available for participation in the youth ministry and youth events of the congregation.
9. Administer the sacraments such as Holy Communion and Baptism according to guidelines of the LCMC and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

B. Qualifications:
1. Must be Biblically sound: teaching truth, law, repentance, and grace.
2. Must be a leader that builds up others to be leaders.
3. Must be a servant leader, a strong teacher, and an enthusiastic team player.
4. Must be willing to embrace and enjoy the rural culture in which we live.
5. Stands firm in their faith sharing their faith with others.
6. Seminarians are welcome to apply.
Compensation
1. Pastoral compensation will be negotiated between the Board of Trustees and the potential candidate.
2. Based on the 2023 budget the salary with benefits is approximately $62,000.00 and is negotiable which includes:
i. Base Salary
ii. 403B monthly contributions
iii. FICA
iv. FSA for Health
v. Retirement Program
vi. Housing allowance
vii. Disability/Life/Health/Dental/Vision
viii. Continuing Education
3. Mileage can be in addition to the compensation package.
