Description: A full time, associate level ministerial staff position with duties in Student Ministry, 7th grade through High School, and responsibilities in Young Adult Ministry (College and Career). This position will be approximately 60% Youth and 40% Young Adult duties.
Hired by: Leadership Team Supervised by: Senior Pastor
Minimum Qualifications: An adult with at least an Associates Degree in a related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) and 1 year experience in a related ministry, paid or significant (weekly) volunteer.
Salary and Benefits: Salary_noemailmensurate with education and experience, family health insurance, two weeks paid vacation (initially, see Personnel Policies) and retirement.
Student Ministry Duties
In coordination with the Senior Pastor and Student Minister
Maintain relationships with Youth students
Assist Student Minister in leading weekly and occasional events
Assist Student Minister in training, encouraging and supporting lay leaders in the Student Ministry
As time allows and per Senior Pastor, assist Student Minister with events, retreats and occasional outreach and recreation
Young Adult Duties:
In coordination with the Senior Pastor and Family Minister
Develop goals and suggest budgets to the LT
Coordinate the ministry of volunteers working with Young Adults
Schedule, plan, recruit leaders, equip and train leaders and generally give leadership for Young Adult Ministry with an emphasis on leadership development and team building
Schedule and_noemailmunicate all Young Adult Ministries events a minimum of 6 weeks in advance, with larger events scheduled farther in advance (e.g. a mission trip)
Maintain regular office hours as approved by the Senior Pastor per Personnel Policies
Reasonable support of other ministries of the church including major Children’s
Division (e.g. VBS and Tractor Treat) events and programs, church wide outreach events such as Christmas, and other efforts that reach beyond the Student Ministry
Other duties as reasonably assigned by the Senior Pastor or Leadership Team
General duties
A weekly discipleship experience for young adults
Maintain a log of contacts and track attendance at all events
Concentrate on relationships with students and young adults both personally and through the ministry of other ministry leaders
Coordination and support of other volunteers
Communication with staff including weekly staff meetings
Prayer
In coordination with the Financial Secretary, in a timely manner, to carefully handle and account for finances of the ministry including funds received during fundraising or cash reimbursements
Crisis ministry/ counseling for youth or families
Events, mission trips, retreats, etc.
Promptly contacting young adult prospects
One-on-one outreach as well as attendance at_noemailmunity events where young adults are likely to be present, as time allows
To continue to improve ministry skills through seminars, training events, self-study and continuing education, with priority given to Senior Pastor assigned study
In coordination with a team:
Develop a climate for young adults that is supportive and cultivates spiritual growth
Additional discipleship, worship, ministry and outreach events or programs
Foster relationships with schools, churches and_noemailanizations that support our efforts to reach young people in the church and_noemailmunity
