Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
Devote himself to the study and exposition of the Word of God
Supervise the administration of the ordinances
Exercise pastoral oversight of the church
Serve as a member of the Board of Elders
Serve as an ex-officio member of the organizations and committees of the church
Suggest appointment of committees as necessary
Scope of Work
Preach regularly for Sunday morning worship services
Primarily expository preaching through large sections of Scripture
Occasional topical preaching as needed
Meet regularly with the Board of Elders to:
Review and discuss spiritual issues in the church
Develop strategies for ruling, leading, guarding, caring for, instructing, and shepherding the congregation
Continue leadership development together
Collaborate with Elders and Deacons on facility-related projects
Oversee the church calendar and activities, including Wednesday evening prayer meetings

Job Qualifications:
Fulfill the qualifications for elders as set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
Agree to the Rockwall Bible Church Statement of Faith
Have a minimum of five years of pastoral experience (Senior Pastor experience is a plus), or a combination of theological training and at least five years of substantial ministry leadership (e.g., evangelist, missionary, elder, assistant pastor, lay pastor, chaplain, etc.) with steady involvement in pastoral responsibilities
Display leadership skills and work well with others to foster teamwork and cooperation
Be able to clearly communicate the Word of God
Demonstrate skill in evangelism and disciple-making
Have experience overseeing multiple ministries of the church
