Job Description:
Melissa United Methodist Church is searching for a gifted and qualified follower of Jesus to lead worship on Sunday mornings for a new church start in Melissa.
The candidate should have experience in successfully leading a worship team and the support personnel involved in producing quality, engaging worship experiences.
Melissa UMC is a new church start project of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and First UMC of McKinney, TX. Having launched weekly worship in September of 2012, it meets every Sunday at McKillop Elementary School in Melissa.
The style of worship is a blend of mostly modern worship songs, with some modern arrangements of hymns, and some hymns done as written. The rest of the service features varying liturgical elements that are used to help worshipers engage with the story being told that week.
We are looking for someone with a great work ethic and all the right vocal, instrumental and leadership skills. This person should also be optimistic, joyful, honest, have a sense of humor, and be dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help people engage with the God who loves us.
