worship, teaching, fellowship, outreach, giving, and service.
Worship Ministry Vision:
To create an atmosphere with creativity and passion where all are drawn into Spirit-filled worship through relevant music and musical and technical excellence, leading the heart of worship so all drawn to God's glory.
Job Description:
Oversee worship and music ministries of the church including both on-line and in-person services. The worship leader will partner with the executive pastor in his vision for developing individuals as disciples of Christ through the music/worship medium.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Abilities: Able to lead worship from either piano or guitar. Technical knowledge of audio mixing through sound board and DAW.
Character: A stable, maturing believer in Jesus Christ, whose life evidences Christian character, devotion to the Lord, and walking under the control of the Spirit. Responsible, dependable, and able to keep confidences. Meets the requirements set forth by Paul in 1 Timothy 3.
Spiritual Growth: Committed to spiritual growth through prayer life and daily devotion time in God's word. Encourage a strong prayer base among musicians and technical teams.
Management: Demonstrates organization and ability to initiate and implement administrative procedures, energy, and self-discipline to work independently on agreed upon goals.
Passion: A heartfelt passion to honor and glorify God through worship and music.
Leadership: A visionary person, compassionate, prayerful, and teachable, who is able to recruit, manage, and motivate others. This person should be able to effectively apply biblical and theological truth in ministry.
Team Player: Demonstrates ability to function as part of a team.
Communication: Effectively communicate in a timely manner with all staff, musicians, volunteers, and participants.
Interpersonal skills: Able to interact with all age groups and music skill levels through good verbal and written communication skills. Have a desire to consistently grow and develop those with musical or worship interests.
Committed: Have an unreserved commitment to the mission, vision and values of GraceWay Bible Church and agreement with the church's doctrines and willingness to become a member of GraceWay Bible Church.
Education: College Degree or pursuing education related to Christian ministries with 1-2 years experience in music ministry; or equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all aspects of worship for three services including in-person and streaming services, stage lighting, sound, media, platform appearance, etc.
Maintain worship service schedules for praise teams, hymns, special music, etc.
Participate in creative planning for services with pastoral staff.
Select and plan all music for Sunday and special services to ensure inspiring music for the congregation by utilizing both contemporary and traditional styles.
Evening commitments as needed for rehearsals, performances, and meetings related to music ministry.
Intentionally develop and build relationships with participants at GraceWay especially those interested in music and technical areas.
Be involved in evangelism and membership care, especially in one's area of ministry.
Communicate faithfully with the executive pastor (by text and/or email, including weekly reports showing hours of work, activities, plans, accomplishments, etc.) and staff.
Participate in the life, services, and ministries of the church.
Provide opportunities for musicians to meaningfully minister to congregation by encouraging them to present their talents for worship.
Prepare and manage plans and budgets for areas of responsibility.
Oversee maintenance of all instruments.
Intentionally develop and build relationships within the community to foster Gospel sharing opportunities.
At times, ministry personnel serve above the call of duty, or job description. Also, holidays are a special time of worship and all staff are expected to be available.
Other duties as assigned by the executive pastor or designee.
