General Responsibilities
* Vision: The Youth Pastor works with team members and leaders to define, cast and clearly communicate vision for each area of responsibility. The vision should align with the church's overall vision and approach to ministry in order to inspire people to join in the journey.
* Pastoral Networks: Builds relationships with other pastors within and outside the Assemblies of God fellowship in order to promote continued personal spiritual growth and a community network.
* Community Connection: Establishes and fosters a relationship with at least one key community-based organization/group specific to the area(s) of responsibility in order to stay current with the needs in our "backyard" and present the gospel in ways that connect with our community.
* Preaching/Teaching: Serves on Sunday preaching team approximately 4 times/year.
* Prepares and stewards the youth ministry budget.
* Attends a Community Group.
* Maintains a work calendar reflective of responsibilities and priorities.
Student Ministry Responsibilities
* Discipleship Development: As part of the church's vision to define and build an intentional discipleship approach for children and students through grade 12, the Youth Pastor will work directly with the BridgeKids Lead and Family Life Pastor to help build a consistent discipleship approach that is relevant to Bridge Youth and helps prepare them to grow in their faith beyond high school.
* Lead and facilitate youth group meetings, Bible studies, and other spiritual activities. Bridge Youth currently meets on Wednesday evenings. Groups that breakout middle from high school students are in development and will meet on other evenings of the week.
* Build relationships with parents and families to create a supportive and cohesive community and explore ways to incorporate parents into the discipleship process, since one of the most important ways to equip students is to equip their parents spiritually.
* Lead a grow our Youth Leadership Team through recruiting, training, and shepherding.
* Develop and Lead a Student Leadership Team who will lead their peers and serve hands- on in the youth ministry and the church.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that meets the spiritual needs of our students. This includes planning and organizing events and activities for youth, such as retreats, mission trips, camps, and community service projects.
* Develop and oversee youth worship and provide opportunities for students to use their giftings for ministry.
* Teaching and preaching the Word of God in a way that is engaging and relevant to young people.
* Build relationships with students by being an active presence in local high schools (as allowed) with periodic visits to engage students at school.
* Offer Biblical counseling and support to youth facing personal challenges or crises
* Creating a fun and welcoming environment that encourages students to grow in their
relationship with Christ and with one another
* Assist the Lead Pastor in making the Youth Ministry a vital function of the overall church,
not just a silo for students.

Outreach/LEAP Responsibilities
* The Youth Pastor will partner with the LEAP Director and the Family Life Pastor to ensure the success of our summer LEAP program. They will take a major role in leading during LEAP by serving alongside our team leads, managing a portion of the event logistics and building relationships with LEAP students and parents. The Youth Pastor will create opportunities to follow up with LEAP students in our community, creating on-ramps that help them learn to follow Jesus.
* The Youth Pastor will also develop and lead outreach opportunities that involve students throughout the year and engage the church in participating.

The candidate must demonstrate Godly character and integrity. The Youth Pastor must be an equipper of people, not just a hard worker. They will be passionate about discipleship and a leader with the ability to clearly articulate vision. They should have strong communication (written & oral) and organizational skills, be a self-starter, self-disciplined and humble. They must have the ability to connect with and relate to youth from diverse backgrounds. They must be teachable willing to learn and take the initiative to grow as a leader.
