Job Description: We are looking for a Shepherd for our teen and pre-teen groups (6th-12th grade). The successful candidate should be excited to mentor, love, teach our youth and guide them to greater growth in Christ. We are looking for a relational candidate who can disciple believers individually and in small groups as well as engage unbelievers.
It is the vision of Westminster Bible Church to be in the business of making disciples. Our goal for any staff position is to further develop gifts and skills to further equip the individual to be an equipper of others (Eph. 4:12-16). Therefore, the duties of the Youth Pastor will be diverse yet maintain a steady focus on the ministry to the youth program.
We are expecting the Youth Pastor to log between 30-40 hours per week including attention given to your walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. Ministry must come from a vibrant and growing spiritual life, if this is not happening, learned skills are irrelevant. Husband and wife involvement in this ministry is preferred.
Serve as the primary student leader and communicator for the church.
Identify, invite, train, and empower leaders to be part of the ministry.
Oversee/Lead the High School and Middle School aged groups.
Maintain and expand on our current discipleship model for Youth Ministry.
Develop relationships with the youth for the purpose of building into them.
Plan/develop/implement/recruit for periodic service projects, missions' trips, and outreach events.
Develop/review necessary youth curriculum.
Communicate and network with other local Youth Leaders to gain insight and develop ways to increase effectiveness.
Maintain a good working relationship with our Senior Pastor. This includes frequent meetings with him and the board of Elders.
Reach out to students of all ages and their parents for the purpose of generating excitement/interest.
Coordinate Youth Calendar with the church secretary.
Maintain and update the PHILEO website including interfacing with the WBC website.
Prepare and deliver youth ministry updates as needed (typically twice a year)
Supportive of various means of education for children (Public School, Private School, Home School).
Form and develop appropriate biblical relationships within the Body of WBC.
We hold open the possibility of administering communion and/or preaching a service at WBC.
Any sundry duties not specified but agreed upon by the Youth Pastor and the Pastor.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school (may be waived in lieu of relevant experience)
Applicant must possess adequate management, leadership, people, and team building and communications skills.
Applicant must be team oriented
Able to meet the 1 Timothy 3 & Titus qualifications for church leadership.
Able to work independently with limited oversight.
Tech savvy- able to work in social media utilized by teens (FB, Twitter, etc.) Also possessing basic skill in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Willing to take the necessary steps to become a member of the Westminster Bible Church.

Westminster Bible Church is a small Bible Church in North Central Maryland. Carroll County is a rural/suburban community and Westminster is the County Seat and largest town.
