Zion Evangelical Church is seeking a God-called servant who can help us build our youth program from the ground up. This person would oversee all facets of youth ministry and work with others to fulfill our spiritual vision and grow youth participation. This includes building disciples through relationships, meeting the diverse needs of today's youth, connecting the Bible to real-world experiences, and developing a mission outlook within the group. We envision this as a part-time (+/- 20 hours/week) position, but are open to discuss full-time possibilities. Salary is negotiable depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities
Develop a model for spiritual formation in our youth, including curriculum and training for leaders.
Evangelize unchurched youth, assimilate new youth and retain currently-involved youth
Be active in establishing and building relationships with youth, volunteers and parents
Envision, design and implement youth gatherings and outreach events that create positive and
encouraging environments to which youth are attracted
Plan and oversee weekly student ministry activities
Plan and oversee Sunday morning student ministry activities (Sunday School) in coordination with
other ministry leaders
Create and maintain a social media presence that engages and attracts young people
Understand and implement the policies, vision, and Statement of Faith of Zion Evangelical Church
Ability to lead Sunday service and preach as needed
Work with the Pastor in a coordinated ministry approach
Perform other duties as assigned

We believe in mission and ministry, and are actively involved in several areas to bring the good news of Jesus to our community.
We have recently gone through a disassociation with the United Church of Christ which caused us to lose some membership. We are looking for someone to help us seek and retain young families for our congregation.
