Pastoral Search Announcement

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 31, 2020

The Mt. Sinai Baptist Church is seeking a full-time God-fearing Baptist Pastor called by God to be the spiritual and administrative leader of the congregation. The applicant must be a teacher and preacher led by the Holy Spirit, with the ability to develop and deliver biblically-sound, Spirit-filled sermons and teachings. The applicant must demonstrate love and embody Christ-like characteristics such as integrity, honesty, loyalty, and dedication.

The Mt. Sinai Baptist Church was organized in 1919 and presently has approximately 150 members on roll. Our pastoral search is due to the retirement of our beloved Pastor, Reverend Curtis L. Whitney who served us faithfully for 32 years.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and Masters of Divinity Degree

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years or more as a Pastor or Experience as Assistant Pastor Preferred.

MINISTRY PRIORITIES: Promoting Spiritual Education, discipleship & spiritual growth, caring for the needs of the church body, having a well-developed vision for the church's future growth, demonstrating a love for the youth and seniors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Pastor is accountable to the church congregation. The Pastor's responsibilities include preaching, teaching, pastoral counseling, performing weddings, funerals and baptisms, planning and guiding the church to grow and fulfill its purpose as set forth in Matthew 28:18-20.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Pastor shall preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, administer the ordinances, watch over his membership, promote the spiritual interest of the church, as well as organize and develop its strengths for the best possible service. He shall, unless otherwise provided by the church, be the moderator of the church and of the advisory board. He shall be an ex-officio member of all boards and committees of the church and its auxiliary organizations (Ref: Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Bylaws).
