Assistant Minister to the Senior PastorNew Community Bible Fellowship Job Description: The Assistant Minister to the Senior Pastor provides executive level assistance, administration, leadership and research for the Senior Pastor as he executes the mission and vision of New Community Bible Fellowship Church. This person will assist the Senior Pastor in developing the vision of the ministry including Membership and Care, Evangelism and Outreach, Discipleship, Worship and Arts ministries. The position involves Strategic Leadership - accompanying Senior Pastor to strategic planning meetings, tracking and reporting statistics to evaluate the performance, effectiveness, health and vision of the ministry; Teaching and Preaching - assist in sermon and speaking engagement research, preparation for leadership sessions, occasional pulpit preaching; Ministry Counseling, Care & Service - provide visitation and care service to the sick and bereaved; and General Administration - facilitate scheduling for key leadership meetings, accompanying Senior Pastor to conferences and speaking engagements, as needed. This is a full-time position with a 48 hour work schedule, designated hours and a full complement of employment benefits.
About New Community Bible Fellowship:New Community Bible Fellowship (NCBF) is a non-denominational, Bible teaching, Christ-centered church located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. We are an urban, contemporary church with fast-moving and dynamic worship experiences. We are a small group driven ministry- thus striving to see every member involved in a small group within the church. New Community is a church plant, started 19 years ago in 1994 by our Sr. Pastor Kevin James. Our membership is currently at 3256 and we offer three identical services each Sunday morning. We have strong programs for both children and adults. Our average attendance on Sunday mornings is 1800 to 2000 between our three services and other educational and children's ministries being conducted. We have over 50 active ministries, which allow every member to find a place to serve in the church. We are a predominately African-American church with a small amount of racial diversity. Our vision is to change lives through the power of Jesus Christ. Job Qualifications:The position requires a sound understanding of the purpose, values and strategies of New Community Bible Fellowship and the ability to align completely with the heart and mission of the Senior Pastor and leadership of the church. BA Degree required, with some seminary training and 3-5 years of demonstrated Christian leadership experience. Must be mature Christian with the basic ability to teach the word of God. Demonstrated administrative abilities, able to organize work and maintain appropriate work standards to accomplish ministry assignments. Proficient in Microsoft Office software and features. Flexibility to work in an environment that is subject to spur of the moment changes. Must exhibit personal discretion regarding information shared in the normal flow of church interactions with leaders, staff and members.
