Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Director of Music Ministry
Position: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, (up to 20 hours per week )
Reports to: Pastor
Supervision: Volunteers

Do you have a passion for leading impactful worship experiences? WCUMC understands music is a critical part of worship. The Director of Music Ministry will directly oversee and lead the musical aspect of worship. WCUMC has both traditional and contemporary services and seeks someone to lead one or both including planning and execution of all musical components of worship and other special events, recruiting and training volunteer worship leaders and band/choir members and setting the musical tone for worship to complement the pastor's sermon and purpose

Qualifications
Artist with a servant leader heart.
Demonstrate proficiency on piano or guitar, preferably both instruments
Experience in performing, training, and directing an eclectic group of musicians in a variety of
musical genres for a a multi-generational congregation.
Knowledge of modern worship music, hymns, and secular songs appropriate for a worship
setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire through the selection and arrangement of music
Collaborative team attitude
Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office Suite, ProPresenter, and Planning Center Online.
Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, who will exemplify the church's values
Understand and be able to champion the church's purpose, vision and journey

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and execute weekly worship music for traditional and modern genres including
leading the choir, developing praise band, scheduling and leading rehearsals and
performances for weekly services and special events.
Collaborate in the planning of worship with pastor and worship team members including adult,
student and children's programs as needed.
Provide leadership for all worship services, rehearsals, and other events as needed.
Coordinate logistics including set up and tear down for rehearsals and weekend worship
service needs.
Recruit, train, mentor, and empower any and all volunteers.
Manage musical instrument and equipment repair, maintenance, replacement and security.
Attend and actively participate in specified church meetings weekly staff meetings
Assist in the recruitment of musicians and selection of music for adult, student, and children's
programs.
Other Duties as assigned.
