First Presbyterian Church, Asheboro (FPC) is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries and Contemporary Worship Music. This person will demonstrate a vibrant, vital, and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Primary tasks include a commitment to the FPC mission of reaching youth with the gospel and growing them as disciples, as well as responsibility for contemporary worship leadership. Duties include providing vision, administration, and leadership for all weekly, seasonal, and annual programs for middle and senior high youth; providing spiritual care in cooperation with the pastors for youth and their families; evaluating, enhancing and leading a praise team for contemporary worship. The Director of Youth Ministries and Contemporary Worship Music will work closely with the pastors and other program staff to implement a ministry that serves the larger vision of FPC, a growing church of 600 members in central North Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities
Overall leadership and implementation of youth programs to further the vision of FPC
Contemporary worship leadership (together with Pastoral staff) to further the vision of FPC
Build open relationships with FPC youth and their parents, cooperating with the Pastors in offering pastoral care and support
Provide for the administration (planning, scheduling, follow-up) and leadership, for weekly youth programs and seasonal and annual special events and trips
Recruit, equip, and support adult volunteers to assist in youth ministry and other areas of ministry
Recruit, rehearse, and lead a praise team for contemporary worship


Desired Qualifications
A passion for Jesus Christ and a desire to see youth and the congregation know Christ as Savior and grow in faith
A passion for youth and music ministry, and an understanding of contemporary youth culture
Wholehearted support and agreement with our church's vision and the essentials of the Reformed/Presbyterian stream of the Christian faith
A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year accredited college or university, or equivalent
Formal training in youth ministry or at least three years youth ministry experience
Strong vocal skills are required, and ability to play guitar or keyboard a plus
Demonstrated ability as a contemporary worship leader
Good planning, administrative, relational, and communication skills
