Position Overview:
A part-time, non-ordained staff position of Mt. Zion Church, a well­ established conservative congregational church. The Worship Leader must have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, have the ability to lead worship with vocal and instrumental proficiency, and be willing and able to be diverse in musical styles.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Service preparation & execution:
Lead the worship music at two weekend services
Work with pastors to create the worship service
Oversee and coordinate the music for the worship services
Oversee and assist the media team with sound, equipment or slide
requirements
Incorporate a variety of familiar and new music in song sets, including
traditional and contemporary selections (e.g. Hillsong, Bethel, contemporary
arrangements of traditional hymns, K-LOVE style)
Conduct pre-service and other rehearsals as necessary

Ministry development:
Recruit new team members (including singers, musicians and media)
Schedule worship team gatherings to promote team building and unity
Conduct advance planning for team development, expansion, and special
services

Requirements:
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and display Christian character in
all aspects of life demonstrating a clear calling and passion for leading
worship
Be Spirit-filled exhibiting humility and an attitude of service
Ability to lead worship with a strong vocal and instrumental proficiency
(either guitar or keyboard)
Willing and able to be diverse in musical styles familiar to Mt. Zion
Ability to lead, mentor, and unify the worship team(s)
Ability to creatively choose and arrange musical selections
Ability to build teams, be teachable, flexible and easy to work with
Recognize importance of and ability to perform administrative tasks
associated with the worship leader's responsibilities
Must exhibit strong organizational and effective time management skills
Knowledge of sound, sound board, lighting and slide technology preferred
Proficiency with Word, Planning Center, and Media Shout software beneficial
