Director of Youth & Family MinistriesHudson United Methodist Church Job Description: The Hudson United Methodist Church (HUMC) has a current vacancy for a Director of Youth and Family Ministries (DYFM). The Director will develop, direct and coordinate a comprehensive and expanding ministry for youth and families at the Hudson United Methodist Church. This position requires a deep commitment to a Christian way of life and requires building positive relationships with youth and families and understanding their needs and interests. The DYFM will support the overall mission, vision, beliefs and strategy of the HUMC and provide clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a call to this ministry position. This is a 32-hour per week position that includes contact hours weekly on Sunday morning, Wednesday evening and occasional weekends. Time allocated for preparation will be negotiated. (Willing to consider part-time employment through June. Candidates must be able to begin working 32 hours/week by July 1.)

Job Qualifications:Candidates must have a deep commitment to a Christian way of life; be able to work well with youth, young adults and parents; and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Position requires cultural savvy such as understanding families and youth needs, interests, and seeing that those needs are being met. Candidates must be able to use technology in their day-to-day duties; be able to plan, organize, lead, and guide complex projects and activities; be willing to work cooperatively with others maintaining a positive outlook and disposition; and maintain confidentiality at all times. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, including theological experience is required. Knowledge of United Methodist Church curriculum is preferred.
