Music Leader and Coordinator First United Methodist Church, Bloomington Requires creativity, collaboration, and flexibility! Lead a worship band through recruitment, on boarding, and communication with paid and volunteer members. Scheduling band members Weekly rehearsals of instrumentalists & vocalists Worship planning of weekly contemporary service Attend staff meetings Administrative tasks (e.g., budgeting, scheduling, worship database, tracking licenses, etc) Work with Communications team to coordinate messages for service Establish working relationship with management of worship site for contemporary service Lead volunteers helping with oversight, direction and vision for contemporary service Required Experience, Skills, Abilities & Attributes: Commitment to a Christ-centered life, understanding oneself as a spiritual leader and representing First Methodist in the community A call to ministry through worship and music Relevant experience in contemporary worship planning and implementation, including band leadership experience and familiarity with contemporary Christian music Demonstrated mastery of vocal and instrumental (preferably guitar or keyboard) performance Strong communication, organizational, follow-through, and leadership skills The ability to work comfortably and adapt in a changing environment Creativity in worship design, ability to work collaboratively with others - including preaching pastors, other musicians, and ministry team Working knowledge (or willingness to learn) of: Song Select, ProPresenter, Elexio, Dropbox and Planning Center Online Send resume and cover letter to cforeman@fumcb.org
