Heights Kids Pastor

Position Summary / Overview: The Heights Kids Pastor is responsible to develop impactful ministry to children birth to 4th grade and their families. He will develop systems and structures, in alignment with the church's mission and vision that leads children to encounter Jesus, engage in their faith with Jesus, and be empowered to serve Jesus. He will develop and empower a team of volunteers who will lead and serve the children and their families. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Plan and execute dynamic and engaging Sunday programming that is age appropriate, Biblically based and fun / Deliver large group teaching in an engaging and creative manner, and/or develop and coach others to do so / Work with Worship Leaders to ensure a musical worship experience includes quality music / worship team / Equip small group leaders to teach children to apply Biblical principles - Plan and execute Wednesday evening program designed to actively engage children in their faith, expand their Biblical knowledge and disciple them to grow in their relationship with Jesus - Recruit, develop, train and oversee Junior Volunteer Team, giving them the opportunity to be empowered to serve their peers in a meaningful and impactful manner - Recruit, train, care for and equip adult volunteers to walk alongside, serve, and teach children as they grow in the relationship with Jesus - Plan and implement events for children and parents (i.e. baptism class, parent child dedication, parenting conferences, service opportunities) - Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers and staff, via email, phone or in person - Oversee the Heights Kids Staff including Early Childhood, Elementary and Support Staff, as well as possible Interns and/or Residents - Partner with Parents and families as they raise their children to be godly adults including providing regular parent gathering and other support - Meet parents and families where they are, and build relationships with them - Develop, oversee and manage an annual calendar, budget, goals and objectives - Partner with Family Ministry Team and Creative Team to create and maintain an atmosphere that is attractive to children - Participate in and support other events, meetings and/or activities as required for Staff Members http://www.heightschurch.com/resources/job-openings/
About Heights Church:
Heights Church was established in the '60s as a church plant and has been at its current campus since 2005, with a weekly attendance of 2,700. Our vision is to see people encounter Jesus to come to know Him, engage in their faith and relationship with Jesus, and be empowered to serve Jesus. We are living out our vision through establishing other campuses in Flagstaff and Prescott Valley.
The Prescott Area: Prescott is a growing quad city area (Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Dewey-Humboldt) with a projection of 5,000 new homes within 5 miles of our Prescott campus within 5 years. Prescott is everyone's home town where we host the World's Oldest Rodeo, the annual Christmas Courthouse Lighting Celebration and a variety of other events. With temperate weather, it is a great place for outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking and kayaking.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities >Bachelor's degree highly preferred, and 5 years experience in a comparable, paid Children's Ministry position > Experience at a church of 1,500 attendees or more, multi-site experience preferred > Deep devotion to God, and a thirst for His Word and relationship with Him > Highly relational (caring and personable on an individual level) > Effective communication skills with team members (interpersonal and group) > Committed to vision, values, and beliefs of Heights Church > Theologically and doctrinally aligned with Heights Church on important matters > Demonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions, with humility > Demonstrates a heart and passion for ministry to children and ability to attract others to it > Demonstrates a desire to share the life of Jesus with children and see them engage in Christian faith > Ability to raise up leaders and empower them to serve in their gifts To be considered for this position: Please submit a resume and a statement of your philosophy of ministry to Lori Thomas Ketring at firstname.lastname@example.org
