Life happens in small groups and communities. First Free Church has a long history of building community through diverse groups that strive to build community, care for one another, grow in our walk of faith, and serve our neighbors.

ROLE
Under the direction of the Executive Pastor of Discipleship, the Groups Pastor will overseeall adult group experiences, classes, small groups, Bible studies, and care groups. He will cultivate a disciple-making environment by building strong, active, and relational communities that equip believers in their walk.

EQUIPPING & SHEPHERDING
The Groups Pastor will create a contagious biblical community by building, equipping, and encouraging successful leadership teams.

LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY
The Groups Pastor will build and strengthen the lay leadership within the church by casting a vision for life-giving groups, overseeing existing and new programs, and working with staff and senior leadership to create a cohesive alignment across all ministries. 

About First Free Church:

First Free Church is full of anticipation for what God wants to do in and through us. Founded in 1983 by five families looking for a place to study God's Word, we have grown into a congregation with over 2700 active participants and 1500 in weekly attendance, including adults, teens, and children. From the beginning, we have been known for solid biblical teaching coupled with warm community. We have also had a strong focus on outreach through global missions, local service, and church planting.

Job Qualifications:

Seminary degree or equivalent
Meet the Biblical qualifications for an Elder (1Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4)
Ordained or the ability to be ordained by the EFCA
Agreement with the EFCA statement of faith and position on human sexuality
Five years or more of history on leading groups/building community
Credible teaching/preaching examples
Able to use current technology to communicate, lead and oversee ministry efforts
