Preferred Qualifications: A disciple with a sincere commitment to Christ, His Church and a passion to spread the supremacy of God into people groups where there is no indigenous, evangelizing church. Masters of Divinity Degree (or higher) related to Missions and/or significant missions experience. Ordained as Pastor. The ability to lead and inspire others and apprentice volunteers in their missions. Strong people and communication skills. Experience with gathering, analyzing and communicating relevant financial information. Up to date knowledge and connections in missions. Accountability: The Pastor of Missions is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor, and must subscribe to SCC MISSON and VISION STATEMENTS. Further, the Pastor of Missions must be in full agreement with the Sanibel Community Church Essential Beliefs and Distinctives as found on the church website under the Core Values and be in agreement with SCC's Bylaws. Responsibilities and Duties: Lead a dynamic, sizable and growing Mission Ministry with substantial global and local outreach. Develop strategies to cultivate SCC's long-term mission vision of evangelism and discipleship and keep it vibrant. Recognize and promote untapped and under tapped potential and opportunities. Develop and administer Missions Budget. Direct the process for evaluation of our Mission Partners, establishing new Mission partners, and terminating partnerships. Personally visit, support, and cultivate relationships with and evaluate all mission partners (local and global). Respond effectively and timely to new, urgent or emergency mission opportunities, needs and conditions as they develop and change. Lead Mission Ministry Team and Mission Committee including monthly meetings and meeting preparation. Motivate, equip, nurture and encourage SCC mission volunteers and participants. Facilitate education and communications to the congregation regarding all SCC missions. Organize and lead Annual Mission Conference. Develop Annual report for Missions. Other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor. Substantial international travel required (25%)
