Responsibilities Preaching & teaching  Expositorily proclaim the Word of God that engages and challenges the life and intellect of a diverse congregation and culture. Teach with humility and a deep knowledge of all of the Scriptures    Leadership and management  Lead the development of a vision for SCC for future ministry through the congregation to Steilacoom, surrounding areas, the nation and the world Effectively lead, mentor, develop, empower and support the church staff and volunteers in collaborative ministry Lead and work with SCC Council, assisting them in building up, maintaining and overseeing the spiritual welfare of the congregation, and for directing and overseeing all ministries and business affairs of this Church to the Glory of God. Pastoral duties  Connect with and pray for our congregation Lead the Congregation in Worship and spiritual formation Provide pastoral care and counseling to members when necessary Provide direction to the appointed staff/leaders of their respective ministries at SCC to encourage spiritual growth, development and support of members Feeds, protects and nurtures the SCC flock   Application Process The pastoral search committee fully respects the candidate's need for complete confidentiality in the application process.
