Pastor of Worship and College INDIANA ALLIANCE CHURCH JOB DESCRIPTION MINISTRY PURPOSE: DIRECTOR OF WORSHIP & COLLEGE OUTREACH RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WORSHIP • Develop worship services that connect people to God • Lead the congregation(s) and the members of the music ministry to grow in their hunger and relationship with God through worship • Leading on a weekly basis the current and expanding worship services • Develop and mentor volunteer worship leaders and giving leadership opportunities as needed • Serve as the music director – giving leadership to all musical opportunities. • Utilize a mix of new, current, and traditional songs and genres • Give leadership and oversight to our technical ministries – sound, video, lighting, Pro Presenter, Planning Center, etc. • Have strong communication skills – able to teach scripture, pray, and incorporate other elements into creative worship elements • Opportunities to teach, and/or lead small groups RESPONSIBILITIES FOR COLLEGE • Work as a key leader to College students by: - Being on the IUP Campus 1-2 days a week - Connecting with College Ministries on Campus and working with them - Developing College Bible Studies and monthly events - Developing and teaching a College and Career Sunday School • Connect College students to our church and invite them to our weekly services and Sunday School hour • Willingness to learn and train in college ministry OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Meetings, Elders Meetings Other as directed by Senior Pastor and shared by staff QUALIFICATIONS • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital and growing relationship with Him • Training in music/worship ministry • At least 3-5 years of proven ministry experience is preferred • Experienced in leading vocalists, musicians • Strong vocal skills and proficient in playing guitar and/or piano • Proficient in being able to read music and develop transitions between songs • Ability to exemplify the church’s values and uphold staff policies • Licensed or willing to be licensed by the WPA District of the C&MA • A sincere desire to be actively involved in ministering to people • Must be personable and work well with people • Good rapport with congregation and healthy relationships with people • Must have a teachable spirit • Committed to developing leaders • Must have a heart for lost people and a vision for reaching them AMENABILITY • All staff are amenable to the Lead Pastor and Governing Board REMUNERATION Remuneration is set by the Elders and is negotiable
