Chinese Christian Union Church - North : Highland Park, IL Full-Time Children Minister (2019) Position Summary Develop and administer a comprehensive, vibrant educational ministry program for children from birth through 5th grade that teaches and shows the love of Christ. Education/Experience BA/BS degree in Christian Education with preference in theology training 2+ years' experience in a children ministry leadership position, and work experience in Chinese-American cultures is a plus. Qualifications/Skills Committed Christ-follower with an evangelical faith Passion for ministry to children and families Spiritual gifts of administration, teaching, and leadership Strong in English verbal and written communication, and the ability to communicate in Chinese is a plus. Must be a team player, detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task Ability to lead a team of ministry helpers and provide direction and vision to the children ministry. Responsibilities and Duties Oversee infants and children programs on Sunday mornings as well as activities for children during the week/evenings related to church-wide programs for adults. Is responsible for the development and implementation of programming for the spiritual formation of children and equipping parents to fulfill their calling as the primary spiritual leaders of their children. Select and develop curriculum materials and educational tools. Establish and lead a Children's Ministry Team responsible for planning the children's activities Work closely with pastoral staff, especially with the youth pastor, for the smooth transition of the 5th graders to the youth program.
