Plan, organize, direct, execute, train, develop and evaluate the music ministry for the entire church. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and oversee music ministry of the church 2. Support the Senior Pastor and collaborate with other pastoral staff members to promote the vision and ministry direction of the church 3. Assist pastors/ministers in planning Sunday worship services, church-wide celebrations, seasonal programs and events; be responsible for the selection of worship music and personnel 4. Responsible for caring, overseeing, recruiting, training and deployment of Music Ministry personnel 5. Lead the Music Ministry Team to determine the goal, direction, organization, program, and annual budget of Music Ministry 6. Assign worship/song leaders, worship teams, song leaders, pianists, organists for worship services, church-wide gatherings and church prayer meetings 7. Responsible for Music Ministry administration, copyright of songs, purchase and maintenance of music, music literature, musical instruments, equipment, choir robes, and other supplies 8. Oversee, coordinate/direct all church choirs, musical groups, and orchestra 9. Oversee and supervise paid music personnel (e.g., Children's Choir director, music librarian) and volunteers 10. Attend pastoral staff, deacons', members', and prayer meetings 11. Maintain regular working hours; comply with church policies and procedures 12. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor ACCOUNTABILITY 1. Acknowledges and agrees to abide by FCBCLA's Constitution and By-laws and Statement of Faith 2. This position is a member of the FCBCLA pastoral staff and is supervised by the Senior Pastor CANDIDATE PROFILE: 1. Born again Christian 2. Confirmed calling by God into the gospel ministry 3. Education: Master's degree in Church Music from seminary or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge and Work Experience: 1. Ministerial experience in a North American church desirable 2. Prior church music ministry experience a plus Skills and Requirements: 1. Skills and Abilities a. Proficiency in keyboard and vocal skills b. Ability to train music personnel c. A good organizer with good communication skills. d. Possess good people skills as a shepherd i. Works with individuals and groups as a team player ii. Handles problems and conflicts with sound discernment iii. Proactive in resolving issues and conflicts iv. Personable, approachable, and available v. Compassionate and caring for believers and non-believers vi. Encouraging and supportive e. Can lead effectively i. Communicates and acts with integrity ii. Initiates, organizes, leads, and delegates f. Sensitivity to the difference of cultures within FCBCLA g. Flexibility to work with different age group Language Skills: Proficiency in written and verbal English and Cantonese a must. Ability to speak Mandarin is desirable.
