Good Shepherd, which is a part of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC), is currently seeking an Interim Lead Pastor to lead us through a season of transition. Under the authority and direction of the Board of Elders, this position leads and equips the congregation to grow in their faith and faithfulness. The Interim Lead Pastor represents the church through a commitment to character, excellence, details, and flexibility. Duties and responsibilities include the following. Pastoral Leadership Serve as head of the staff with direct reports (including, but not limited to, the Worship Leader and Director of Operations), in consultation with the Board of Elders Attend all Board of Elders' meetings Lead/attend weekly staff chapel and worship planning meetings Maintain and grow connection with other local congregations Preaching & Leading Services Serve as primary preacher of the congregation; ensures qualified coverage for the pulpit when absent Develop worship series as needed in consultation with the Worship Leader Provide any additional assistance to ensure quality, Gospel-centered worship services Pastoral Care Perform baptisms, weddings, and funerals Provide pastoral counseling and home/hospital visitation as needed Administration Ensure clear communication between the Board of Elders, staff, and congregation Work within the budget provided by the Elders and approve relevant expenditures Keep the Board of Elders informed on staffing needs, performance, and evaluation Supervise and partner with the Director of Operations to ensure daily operations of the church and preschool Oversee benevolence and mission opportunities as needed Education & Background Preferred: Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education/experience; certified or willing to be certified in the LCMC Significant ministry experience Position Details Full-time Contract Call; Exempt; Salaried May not apply for Lead Pastor position Vacation/Sick Days per Personnel Manual
