Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITES:
-Grow and shepherd a church-wide worship ministry accessible to all age groups, to include music, drama and other_noemailplementary forms of worship
- Assist the senior pastor in planning all worship services, particularly selection of music – both contemporary and traditional styles
- Develop worship talent within the church body through internal review, assessment and provision of training opportunities
-Carefully enlist and train lay workers for suitable positions of worship ministry leadership
-Ensure that lyric presentations (including verse and chorus placement) for worship services are correctly arranged and_noemailpliant with copyright licensing
- Arrange and ensure music availability for weddings, funerals, special projects and other church related activities as needed
-Coordinate a_noemailpanists, song leaders and other lay worship leaders to facilitate effective, Spirit-filled worship services
-Oversee obtaining, cataloguing, repairing and maintaining an adequate inventory of musical supplies, instruments, audio video equipment, lighting and a musical library
-Supervise the_noemailanization, training, scheduling & performance of audio video support personnel
-Make budget requests for the worship ministry and be responsible for following church policies in making purchases and taking care of expenses
-Cooperate with associational, convention and state leaders in promoting worship activities
-Keep current on worship ministry methods, materials, promotion and administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Meet all biblical qualifications outlined in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, I Peter 5:1-4
-Demonstrate sound stewardship of financial resources, recognizing the tithe to his local church as the minimum of giving
-Comply with bylaws and constitution of Foothills Southern Baptist Church
-Lead songs both vocally and instrumentally (keyboard preferred, but guitar is acceptable)
-US Citizen
EDUCATION:
Specific training in worship ministries, to include music expertise is a minimum requirement. Education background preferably from an accredited Southern Baptist college or seminary.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior leadership role in a worship ministry required. Three to ten years of experience strongly preferred. Ability to teach Christ-centered sermons in absence of senior pastor is desired.
